Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been handed a one-match touchline ban after being sent off during his team’s dramatic 2–1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Italian tactician was shown a second yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor after leaving his technical area to celebrate with his players when Estevão Willian netted a 95th-minute winner against the defending champions.

According to the Football Association (FA), Maresca was charged for “improper conduct” after using “abusive and/or insulting language or behaviour” in the final moments of the game. The Chelsea boss accepted the charge and the standard penalty.

Having already received a yellow card earlier in the game for dissent, Maresca was also fined £8,000. As a result, he will miss Chelsea’s upcoming trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest, where his assistant Willy Caballero is expected to take charge.

This marks Maresca’s second touchline ban since taking over at Stamford Bridge in June 2024. His first suspension came in April 2025 after celebrating a late winner by Pedro Neto against Fulham.
