Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed the dismissal of head coach Ange Postecoglou with immediate effect, following the club’s disappointing 3–0 home defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League.

The decision came less than six weeks after his appointment, marking one of the shortest managerial tenures in Premier League history. Postecoglou, who joined in early September after leaving Tottenham, was unable to turn the team’s form around collecting no wins from eight matches, with two draws and six defeats.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, known for his quick managerial decisions since taking over Olympiakos in 2011, reportedly made the call inside the stadium, moments before the final whistle. Multiple reports suggest the Greek businessman was furious with the performance and left his seat before full time.

Marinakis has a reputation for being ruthless when results falter having sacked over 20 managers during his ownership of Olympiakos  and it seems that same impatience has now reached Nottingham.
